INSTALLATION
1. Create a folder somewhere on your computer where you would like to store the awSnapRuler preset.
2. Place the awSnapRuler.cfg config file in that folder.
3. Make sure modo is closed.
3. Open your MODO201.CFG config file. At the top place the following line, right underneath the 'user:Scripts' line.
c:\your\path\to\the\awSnapRuler\folder
4. Open modo. In the command box type the following line:
tool.setPreset awSnapRuler
5. This will activate the tool. Now in the command history, find the command that was just launched -
Tool Set Preset tool.setPreset awSnapRuler
6. Right click on this command and select 'map command to key'.
7. Assign your preset to a key.
USE
1. Press the key down that is mapped to the preset and hold it down.
2. Now click and drag the mouse over a object - the ruler will appear and snap to the underlying geometry
3. Letting go of the key will make the ruler disappear and turn off snapping
4. Pressing the key without holding it down will simply activate the ruler. Pressing it again will make the ruler disappear.
