Scripts that help in managing modo's configuration files.

XportFragments.zip 2006.12.26

Here is a script i wrote to export all of the config fragments.

1. Backup your config
2. Run the script and select a folder to export the fragments.

NOTE - Append and import are turned off by the script.

For a great tutorial on using this script and further creating a professional modo configuration environment see this thread and this thread.

The scripts works as follows:
- set up a new directory for your config files e.g. myConfigs
- run the script and locate this directory
- Point the fileopen requester in the direction of your modo.cfg
- Scripts saves a back-up of you config .beforeImport
- Script finds the first pair of import tags and adds a new import tag pair with you new directory name.

*** problem - when you quit modo the new <import> is removed.
*** feel free to alter the code as you wish... so far I've only tested on a couple of PC's.

configDicer_v0.5.zip 2005.02.11

ConfigDicer.pl will allow you to copy parts of your modo.cfg file into seperate .cfg files so that you can extract the things you want from the config which can then be deleted. The files that it creates can be put into your resrc directory to have them load up everytime modo starts, so they no longer have to be in the config to work....

For example... I've got 100 custom key configurations that I want to keep, but I don't need anything else, so I run the script with the keymaps selected and I get my keymaps in a seperate config file which can then be put into my resrc directory, and now I can delete my modo.cfg file (or rename it for safety purposes) and I have a clean config with my keymaps intact... This script works a lot like the config export options that you already have, however this script covers all of them.

Just a little program to remove viewports settings from you main Modo config file 'MODO.CFG'. To use it:

a) Load the Modod config file.
b) Check viewport(s) you want to delete.
c) Save the Modo config file.

Note: A backup of your original 'MODO.CFG' can be found in the folder you dropped the 'ModoConfig.exe' under 'Modo.txt'.
